Zone 10

Pink Tabebuia is native from Mexico to Venezuela. It may be seen called Pink Poui-Rosea or just Pink Trumpet Tree

Larger than the Yellow Tabebuia, it is rated widely from 20-50 feeTabebuia Most mature trees we see locally are about 30-35 feet.  Tabebuia Young Pinks grow like the Yellow but then fill out taller and wider

This Tabebuia is one over 100 species with blooms starting near the first day of spring in South Florida. Its clusters of pink trumpet flowers are very attractive

Pink Tabebuia is good, reliable tree, and stronger against the elements than the more common Yellows. Also, as it matures, Pink Tabebuia will bloom on and off through all the warm months and into the fall for larger trees

It is semi-deciduous. Some trees lose most of their leaves prior to blooming (best) while others hold most of their old leaves while in flower

One good "trick" is to cut off all added water 6-8 weeks before spring. This will encourage leaf drop and produce a much heavier show of flowers. All Tabebuias in irrigated landscapes are poorer bloomers due to this excess water

Plant this tree in full sun, on well drained soil. The tree has no pests

Other proven Tabebuia varieties include:

  • Tabebuia caraiba, Yellow Tabebuia
  • Tabebuia chrysotricha, Golden Trumpet
  • Tabebuia donnell-smithii
  • Tabebuia heterophylla, Pink Trumpet Tree
  • Tabebuia heterophylla, 'Caribbean Queen'
  • Tabebuia impetiginosa, Purple Trumpet
  • Tabebuia ipe (imperiginosa)
  • Tabebuia pallida (heterophylla), also rosea
  • Tabebuia pentaphylla
  • Tabebuia serratifolia - Yellow Poui
  • Tabebuia umbellata, Yellow Trumpet
