The flame vine from Brazil is a rampant grower able to cover very large areas with glorious color. Its powerful growth means the owner has to be watchful it does escape up utility poles, into neighbors' yards, onto roofs, etc

It is best to prune your vine back hard after the blooming season.

Use flame vine where you want quick, thorough coverage.

Flame vine blooms in later winter and into the spring in South Florida. Plant in full sun to partial shade into plain sandy soil but enriched with organic matter. Water to establish then there is little else to do but enjoy.

Fertilize normally, but lightly.
