This is the crinum lily, but the rare red variety demands full sun and likes it hot for proper leaf color and flower quality production

The crinum is a popular bulb in zones 9 and 10 so you will see crinums in Central Florida as well

Most varieties have substantially white flowers but purple hues will be seen in the plant shown. The flowers form in clusters and are long lasting. Can be used from full sun to partial shade

We have observed fungus spots on many crinums in the landscape, but those planted near the beach with some salt spray stay clean in their leaves. Generally, do nothing about these spots
